Meet the Helotes Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door

When you call Otto’s Garage Door, the person who answers is someone who lives within driving distance of your street. We don’t route calls through a call center in another state, and we don’t send a stranger in a rented truck. The crew that shows up in Helotes, Grey Forest, and the hills west of 1604 is made up of people Otto has worked beside for years. They know torsion springs, sure. They also know which neighborhoods have cedar pollen thick enough to gum up photo eyes in March. What unites them is simple: they treat every door like it belongs to their own garage, because in a town this size, it probably belongs to someone they’ll see at the grocery store.

Our People

Otto Reinhardt, Owner and Lead Technician

Otto founded Otto’s Garage Door in 2004, and he still answers the phone most nights. He’s the one who quotes your job before the visit and shows up holding that number. After 29 years in the trade, he’s worked on every major brand in the business: LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor. He counts spring cycles the way drivers count tire miles, which means he’ll tell you honestly what’s left on your springs before anything breaks. When he’s not under a door, he’s usually at the local hardware store, where the cashiers know him by name and ask about his daughter’s softball team.

Marco R., Senior Installer

Marco has been hanging doors with Otto for fourteen years now. He specializes in full door replacements and custom track work, which matters when a Helotes home has an oddly framed opening that a big-box installer would walk away from. Marco is certified in Clopay and Amarr installation and can set a 16-foot door to within an eighth of an inch without a second thought. He grew up in San Antonio’s west side and moved out toward Helotes when his kids started school. On weekends you’ll find him smoking brisket, and he will absolutely talk your ear off about oak versus mesquite if you let him.

Dana W., Service Coordinator

Dana is the voice you’ll hear when you call at 9 a.m. on a Tuesday, and sometimes the one at 9 p.m. when a spring lets go and your car is stuck inside the garage. She’s been with Otto since 2016 and keeps the schedule running without making anyone feel rushed. Dana spent her first eight years in the trade working parts counters, so when you describe the grinding noise your opener makes, she usually knows the part number before the truck rolls. She’s a native of Bandera County and keeps a running list of the best kolaches in a twenty-mile radius, which she will share if you ask nicely.

Trey D., Apprentice Technician

Trey joined the crew two years ago after finishing a trades program in San Antonio. He’s the youngest person on the team and still learning the deeper tricks of torsion systems, but he already handles opener swaps, sensor alignments, and weather seal replacements on his own. Otto has him shadow every spring job until he can recite the safety checks in his sleep, because a door is 200 pounds riding on two springs and there’s no shortcut around respecting it. Trey grew up in Helotes and went to O’Connor High School, which means half the doors he works on belong to people his parents know from church.

One Standard, Every Job

The rule at Otto’s Garage Door has never changed: the name on the van is the name on the invoice and the name on the license. Otto himself sets the standard, and the crew he’s built lives by it. Every job, from a broken cable in Grey Forest to a new opener in Helotes, gets the same treatment: upfront pricing quoted before work begins, parts and labor explained in plain English, and a written 90-Day Done Right Promise on the invoice. If something isn’t right inside those ninety days, one call brings Otto back personally. No runaround, no customer-service queue, no corporate hotline. Just a local owner who expects to see the reader at the next football game and knows his reputation rides on every door his team touches. Background-checked, uniformed, and trained across all major brands, this crew does the job the way Otto would do it himself, because most days Otto is the one standing right there next to them.
